THE LATE A'LELIA WALKER
Born June 6, 1885
Died Aug. 17, 1931

The above picture is a likeness of Madam A'Lelia Walker, who succeeded her mother, the late Madam C. J. Walker, as President of The Madam C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company.
Mme. A'Lelia Walker was a highly trained business woman and her practical knowledge of the business affairs of the Company, gained by the long association with her mother, made her a competent executive.
On assuming the duties of President of the Company she stated that she had no new policies to institute, but would simply carry out her mother's wishes in connection with the operation of the business.
She passed away after a very short illness in August, 1931, and was succeeded by her legally adopted daughter, Mrs. Mae Walker Perry.

Briefly mentioned in the previous paragraph is the fact that Mrs. Mae Walker Perry, legally adopted daughter of the late A'Lelia Walker, who succeeded her mother as President of the Mme. C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company.
Mrs. Perry, after completing her college education, traveled widely and prepared herself to inherit the mantle of her sponsors.
Trained in the Chemistry of Cosmetics, herself an expert beautician, she is making valuable contributions to the continued growth and prestige of The Madam C. J. Walker Manufacturing Company.
Though a devoted mother of two children, she finds time to be active in the conduct of the Company's widespread business.
