April 23 Thursday

Fair. I went to school. Hot in afternoon. Mr. Vernon Bailey (the nice old man (married - lives in Washington) who always helped me with my pets - I hadn't seen him since last year - he has lots of traps he made & invented - I have his mouse trap he gave me + one of his cages. He had lots of pets too. I took my mice to him - he never saw Bun-Bun (rabbit) died last Monday. I liked him. I can get a bicycle !!!!! I have always wanted one - you can't buy new bicycles now - war restrictions. I am under looking in paper for adds to get one. Both mother + dad said so – we can't take car up to Mass because of gasoline rationing which will start May 15 – 5 gal a week!!
