MINNIE: ...exposing himself and going out in the cold air he caught pneumonia and he died. Then she had a (unintelligible) keeping a large boarding house. But she goes to work and marries another man, young as her baby boy. Because--

What cause him to have this man, I don't know-- What caused this young man, so my uncle says, caused him to get-- He wouldn't let my uncle have anything to fix or do for Grandmother Rachel. He was her husband and he would rule her. What made him angry, Grandmother had some insurances. So she had those insurances transferred to my Grandmother Mary, transferred from New York, Metropolitan (unintelligible) but had the policy and all turned over to Mama down here. So when he find that out, that made him angry. And, my grandmother died. They wasn't no one out there to see her--

MRS STARR: You mean your greatgrandmother, when you say--

MINNIE: My mother Rachel--to see her put away. But-- Well, they did let my uncle, Uncle William, Uncle Bill we called him--they let him know. You know. See her buried, something or another like that. Then the rest of them-- Cause she had another son...
