M.E. give them to them. I told them don't let [[strikethrough]] any [[/strikethrough]] nobody photograph them either (C.W. Yes, I know) and so when they wanted them for this thing they [[strikethrough]] wanted [[/strikethrough]] were getting a lot of other paintings from other people in this great exhibition they were having. 

C.W. Right but other than that you haven't been in contact with black artists? have you?

M.E. No I haven't.

C.W. No, no Do you, do you miss the contact? I mean I noticed that in your paintings really black people are not in them.

M.E. I don't know why. There's one thing like this I have had a few people to ask me that. See but it don't appeal to me. It hasn't appealed to me for that and I tell them I keep, and then I have angels and things in there. There's is no black angels in heaven. Ain't nothing up there black. It's about everything is (laughter)

C.W. white? Do you think everybody's white?

M.E. I think everybody you see in heaven that's my idea. They are angels and all are white. (C.W. I understand) All one grand beautiful white color. (C.W. I see, right).

art lessons

C.W. Well, I wanted to thank you for talking about your work. Do you ever five art lessons your self? Did you ever try and teach children to paint?

M.E. Oh, I can't teach anyone. I can't teach [[strikethrough]] anyone [[/strikethrough]] no one [[strikethrough]] just [[/strikethrough]] this what I know.

C.W. I see right. I know what you mean. (M.E, It's so different) cause it comes to you.

M.E. Something like that from other pictures maybe I could teach them.

C.W. That's right. You mean if it were straight representation. But yours is all symbolic.

M.E. All that's different from anybody and I couldn't teach nobody to do that, and neither can anybody teach me.
