During the month also the former assistant, J. B. Smith, spent most of the time, on a visit to the Museum, in the arrangement of some of the families of Noctuidae bringing all unarranged material together and also in determining material which he brought from Rutgers College for that purpose. I gave him in exchange for the 16 species added to the collection already referred to, 61 species and 99 specimens for the Rutgers College collection. He also took with him some 25 undetermined species for study.
