REPORT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INSECTS FOR MAY, 1891.

The following accessions have been received during the month:

✓ 24277 -  A collection of Tineidae containing 430 species in 900 species of North America and 140 species in 500 specimens of Europe.  This collection was purchased from Mr. Wm. Beutenmuller of New York by the Agricultural Department and deposited in the Museum.  It contains the original types of all the species described by Mr. Beutenmuller.

✓ 24279 - North American Tineidae and some Tortricidae containing 240 species in 1100 specimens.

✓ 24278 _ A smaller series of European Coleoptera from Prof. Paul Noel, Rouen, France,(exchange).  An equivalent in North American Coleoptera has been returned.
