Respectfully returned to Genl. H.M. Whittelsey C Q M enclosing requisition for a two (2) horse ambulance with the circumstances rendering it necessary.

The means of Transportation at Freedmens Village are as follows. (1) One 2 horse ambulance (3) Three 2 horse wagons, (2) Two carts. (11) Eleven horses, not including horses used by Supt and Surg.

Respectfully returned to Bvt. Maj. J.M. Brown A. Qr. Mr. remarking that the circumstances rendering necessary the  purchase of the means of transportation within estimated for, should be more particularly stated.

If the ambulance now held at Freedmens Village, is worn out and unservicable it should be subjected to the action of an inspection with a view of condemnation, after which the purchase of an ambulance to replace the one thus condemned will be authorized.
