Ther. 47.54.49. Morning, Bar. 30.170, foggy, rainy fresh S by W wind. Noon moderates a little. P.M. wind fresh but no rain, go out and take telemetric observations and angles from the top of Round Island. Rain comes in and we return. P.M. preparing bird skins . P.M. 9 oclock bar. 30.090

Wednesday July 17
Ther. 48.50.45. Bar. 30.000. Wind mod. SE. Foggy, raining. Day rainy P.M. wind very fresh with much wind schr. J.H. Roscoe comes in to make a harbor, left S.F. May 9. has 30 000 fish. After dinner Capt Jones comes aboard. Boat in A.M. goes over to Dix's place + brings him over. Blowing a gale outside -[[?]] Roscoe. -9P.M. bar 29.880
