sand or shingle beaches which drop down very suddenly to 3&4 fms. 6 or 8 is the deepest water. There is not room enough for more than one or two vessels and a vessel of any size must have a fair wind in & out as the channel is not wide enough to heal in. The land around is high, several streams fall into the harbor, one at its head comes from a large lagoon. The N Head is a cliff of metamorphic slates & sandstones about 800 feet high. The rocks inland are partially granite. Woollys are prevalent as in most of these harbors surround by high land. One of them have down the Vivid this summer (George) Capt. Holder.
