material in the National Museum. The species are tabulated in analytical keys, all elaborately described, and most of them figured on the plates. Of the genus Stratiomyia 20 species are recognized, one of which is described as new, and the original descriptions of 7 unrecognized species are added. In the genus Odontomyia there are 31 valid species, 7 of which are described as new, and original descriptions of 15 unrecognized species are added. The types of 3 of the new species are in the National Museum.

A monograph of the North American species of aquatic beetles of the genus Dineutes. 12 species are recognized as valid, 3 of which are described as new. The types are in the National Museum. The ♂ genitalia and the secondary sexual characters of the anterior legs and of the apices of elytra are figured on the plates of all the species.
