Report of Department of Insects forJune 1896.

The following accessions were received during the month:
✓ 30711. Types of Tropidia nigricornis Hunter, from W.D.Hunter Lincoln Nebraska.
✓ 30733. Two species of ants from B.H.Standish Minneapolis Minn [[min]].
✓ 30755. Hadronotus carinatifrons Ashmead, 6 ex. and Tetrastichus Johnsoni Ashmead, 6 ex.(Types), from W.G.Johnson Urbana Ills.
✓ 30783. Dynastes Tityus, 1 ex., from Isaac Toomer, Westlake La.
✓ 30776. Larva of Homoptera calycanthata from J.S.Holmes, Bowmans Bluff, Henderson Co. N.C.
✓ 30800. Collection of Coleoptera from Egypt and Europe, presented vy Dr. A.Fényes,Helouan Egypt.
✓ 30814. 5 species of insects from Lake Drummond Va., collected by Wm. Palmer U.S.National Museum.
11 temporary accessions were duly reported upon.
A series of 100 species of Coleoptera were identified for Baker University, Baldwin Kansas and 38 species of miscellaneous insects for F.F.Crevecoeur Onaga Kansas.
The insects collected by Dr.Abbott on the Indian islands north of Madagascar, have been studied and the report upon them will be ready within a short time. All types in the order Lepidoptera have been catalogued and labelled with special red type-labels. The number of species represented by types in the Museum-collections in this order is 505.
