Respy returned with information that the statement of the Boy (Richard Bowie) is false in every respect, his Uncle Thos. Bowie is employed by Messrs Alfred Wood & Co. Wood & Coal dealers - in this City - and they state that he (Thos) is a reliable and industrious man that he (Thos) takes the best of care of the Boy (Richard) requiring of him only to take care of the house and a child 6 yrs old.
Thos states that the Boy Richard was without a home or employment at Baltimore & that he took him out of charity. That he will do by him as well as he is able - that he has never treated him other than kindly.
