Madam: As the industrial school under your charge has been ordered closed the Ass't Commissioner desires to know whether the services of Louisa Davis and Mary Wood are longer necessary.

The imperative necessity of reducing expenses to the lowest practicable limit will require their discharge orders, for some reason not now apparent, it shall be found necessary to retain them.

Immediate reply is requested.
