Capt. Wm. F. Spurgein,
Esteemed Friend,
In noticing a circular in the "Phila. Press" I am induced to write to thee, concerning a female servant or contra-band, we would take one of about 14 to 16 yrs. of age, and give fair wages, & keep her until 18 yrs of age or longer, if she proves faithfull. our family is small; we wish a good girl, to do house-work, and be useful in general. Please answer as soon as convenient, does government pay fare &c. if so please write and let me know where we can meet her at Broad & Prime.
Thine Truly,
S. Y. Rassiter,
