These collections are, therefore, in the best condition for study and I shall at once start Mr. Blish in the work of determining under my care those species which have not already been identified. In the early part of April I began to work over the Crustacea in detail, making notes of all the specimens, but other matters of greater importance have since interfered.

A great deal of time is always taken up by incidental labors which it is impossible to describe in detail - such as caring for collections as they are received, etc. A number of small collections of some value were received during April and May, and such collections are always examined, sorted and transferred to proper jars at once
