My evenings at home have been devoted to correcting proofsheets of the translated report of A. E. Hausser, on Oyster Culture in Morbihan, France for the U.S. Fish Commissioner's report, and in preparing a report on the natural History of the American lobster for the U.S. Census. But little time has been available for my special studies of the marine Copepoda, but some progress has nevertheless been made with them.

Mounting of Specimens for Exhibition. Mr. Hawley has been wholly occupied in mounting Echinoderms. The collection of new England echinoderms, on which he began last month, and which reference was made in my last report, was finished the first part of this month. Since then
