The card catalogue has kept pace nearly with the record books, almost every entry in the latter having been recorded on the regulation cards, which are arranged in systematic order, so far as the species have been determined. Between 8,000 and 9,000 cards are now contained in this catalogue, the discrepancy between which and the entries in the record books being due to the fact that over 2,000 specimens destroyed at Chicago had been entered in the latter. In the arrangement of the card catalogue, the reserve and duplicate cards are kept apart, and are stored in suitable boxes.
