greater portion of the specimens for the second series of duplicates, has done much cataloguing and sorting, and has identified most of the species of the Lepas group of barnacles in the Museum Collection. He has also spent much time in compiling bibliographies of the publications of American Naturalists, who have published on marine invertebrates. Mr. George Weld entered this department as a volunteer about November 1, and has been very industrious in performing the work assigned to him. He has mainly assisted Mr. Tarr in the preparation of the duplicate sets, and has made preliminary studies on some of the commoner crustacea.
