Dec. 8, 1929.

Dear Sidney,

It has been rather a dull day here and just enough moisture so that the streets were glare ice all day and we kept the auto in the barn and outside of going to the office a while this morning and again tonight to put the light on, we have been at home all day. I went to Boston Wednesday to a meeting of the Mass. Co-op Bank League and Maude went with me and spent her time looking around the stores and getting a few things for Christmas, which will be here two weeks from Wednesday. We seem to be having an early winter this year and the snow has stayed without much of any thaw so far. I went over to the house one day and took out the "for sale" signs and put one of the "to let" signs in the window down stairs as well as up stairs.
