Tuesday afternoon the doctor told me he would have to puncture the bladder to relieve him - it was the only thing he could do. So he told us we could return in about an hour and we did so. Yesterday he was in considerable pain when we were there. The doctor told one in two or three days more he would know better how he would come along. He is of course in bad condition but the doctor says has a strong constitution and may improve. I didn't wire you last night as there was little if any change but will send you a telegram now which you will get at about the same time as you would a night letter. Ma wanted me to ask if you could send three hundred dollars in the emergency as nurses and hospital bills
