Dear Sid: 

Another dark chilly day. We have heard from Mrs Osborne last night (Monday) to the effect she was just out of bed, and if she was able would try to come Wednesday. I told her I should stay till the end of the week anyhow and if she didn't feel up to it, not to come till Friday, and she at once said that she would like to stay at home till Friday to get her strength back. I thought that maybe by then I should be able to see more clearly which way Pa was headed. 

Yesterday he slept till noon but was weak & fretful till we left him to Mr. Cobb at 9 pm. Then he slept with only a few breaks till 5, the best night he has had, and
