Your two cards came today. I am glad you are going out with someone for supper, even if it only at Mr. Allen's restaurant. If they are not all frozen you might water the plants in the bedroom.

We paid Mr. Cobb $21 this morning. The expense is terrible & is worrying both of us. Can you suggest anything else.? My mother sticks to it that if Pa succumbs she will live alone and I can fancy very well she would live in the kitchen on bread and water. She won't hear of going down to Alice's. She wants to live at home and sleep on her own feather bed, and tend to her own plants, etc. So there you are.

Now I must get out for my afternoon walk and marketing. My cold seems to be better. My mother is as hoarse as a crow today. I do hope you won't get any.

Doris.

My mother thinks Pa is much weaker this afternoon. I should think he would be. He calls me "that woman". He knows next to nothing.
