Dear Sid: It is dog day weather here, damp, sultry & uncomfortable. You must be terribly hot there. Doris was gone all yesterday AM at the Brockton pond swimming. I went down and had a dip in York Pond but was hotter than ever coming back. Amy is coming over this morning. She leaves for Onset Mon. Eliz.'s younger boy leaves Mon. for Navy induction too. Doris has gone flying down to see if she can get any meat for Sun. Meat very scarce up here. We have it only once a week, haddock the rest of the time. Have you watered the azalea & African violet lately? Doris is going to get you a Canton J ticket so you can use it for baggage (tomatoes & peaches) I will send it in my next letter. Shall be glad to see you - only 1 full week more down there.

Doris
