It seems that our friend Mr L. wrote Frank that he heard that he was very much demorallized, as F.L.W. expresses it, over a young lady in Dorchester, and also made some insane remark about yours truly. Well Mr. W was so afraid that I would hear [[strikethrough]] from [[/strikethrough]] of it, that he hastened to deny it before he was accused, he seemed to be very much broke up about it. The way I read it, it looked like one word for me and two for him self. I mean Mr. L. 

I told Frank that I thought Dan was troubling himself about what was none of his business. What do you think? I dont [[strikethrough]] knot [[/strikethrough]] know whether Frank wanted me to tell you this or not but I thought I would just to let you see what kind of a man D.L. Jr. was. He makes me so mad I could kick a hole through him. What do you think of his plan of operations dearest

I cant for the life of me see what business it was of his if I was clem over you or you over him for that matter

Nothing makes me so mad as to have anyone go around telling things like that. He also wrote me a letter once [[strikethrough]] is [[/strikethrough]]in regards to my chances of success in your esteem. That was what first disgusted me with him.

I hope I have not said anything to offend you but he made me so tired that I had to vent my rath in some way. Now I will proceed. Oh! first. Tell me if you have heard anything of this dread calamity that [[strikethrough]] ha [[/strikethrough]] has befallen Mr. F.L.W. and Where did Lyons get it? The boys are going down to the coast next week to work they go down Brighton way. You know that B. is the great summer resort for England and strange to relate they the English go to the seashore at this time of the year, instead of in the summer

On p. 6 , 2nd line, of this letter, although the writing is not clear, I think that word is "clem", which means starving or thirsty. The meaning of "clem" fits into the thought expressed in his sentence.
