I imagine that your speaking to Emily may have given offense, though I cannot see how you could avoid it as her little daughter is living with her; but I know my brother thought I ought not to have visited her tiny house - I did it for the best, I never dreamed that there was anything else to do. I hear nothing of Ed he has never been to see me since they were all together at Beaufresse a year ago in September, I saw Ed's name amongst those at some Court functions lately so I suppose he is well. 

The other day I had a visit from M. Clemenceau, now a Senator. I wonder if Rob remembers him, he is quite a power again, after being under a cloud for so long & not too happy. One of his daughters is a widow her husband killed himself & the other is divorced, so the word goes, not many people are happy. It is quite a relief to write to you & think that at least you & Rob are having a good time.
