She returns too soon with the breakfast for us to get up, some take it bed, which we thought horrid but are getting used to it - we have a cup of delicious chocolate apiece two rolls and just butter enough. The other day when a little of the butter was left, we rolled it up in paper took it out with us and threw it away in the street for fear the supply woud be reduced. Walking and hiding about these streets it is impossible for me to realize that this is Paris, and that I am on historic ground. One man passes every morning who shouts something that sounds like ' m'aimez vous - m'aimez vous '. You have to say "Merc-s-s-s-i Madame' 100 times a day. My accent is improving I think - For 'oui', you do not sat "wee" but - 'khwee' - they have a curious chi-- & How it out. I am so sorry I did not bring Cecil a nice present - since I brought the others something - I see that I am not going to have much chance to be
