My Dear Leilie

So you are back in Paris again after your six weeks trip - so successful as it was and very delightful. It will be a pleassant memory ever after. Think of you standing by the gaming tables at Monte Carlo watching the players! Did you feel a longing to try your luck? We want to hear about Violes and Avignon - that will come next if you are not too hurried to stop and go back a week or two. ——Emily makes me do all the writing now because my eyes refuse to let me see or read more than a few minutes at a time; so if I do not come up to the mark, it will be because I have too much to do in this live [[life]].— We heard today of the death of Dr Clements of Cheltenham Academy. This may interfere very seriously with Charlie's plans for this year. It is said not to be unexpected, but we had no idea of any thing of the kind. It was quite a shock to us.—
Cecillia is with us for a few days - she does so enjoy going over to the city with us shopping and looking at all the pretty Christmas things. We are doing very little in that way and our Xmas will make a poor show.
You ought to buy the Christmas Figures for the sake of series of illustrations - "How to make a Chef d'Oeuvre".— It is one of the funniest I have seen in a long time.
Uncle Will went to New York last week and saw Cousin Julia - Oh I must have told you that —
I am afraid her trouble is more seriuos than we have thought. She is not going home just yet. Dr M Larn.
