Thursday foggy still. Three ships passed by, in the afternoon. Nothing done today. - Except to play three games of checkers and one of chess. Friday still foggy nothing to amuse one. But the different passengers are becoming acquainted with the easy roll. Many spend the day on deck now. 

There is a pilot from India aboard. Fine old man looks like the late Sir Frederick Leighton. He is my Partner in whist every evening. 

The fellow Bess took to be an actor is going to Glasgow to study yatcht designing. The Colonel and I are becoming expert checkers players. Saturday clear weather wind blowing thirty three miles an hour. Rather an uncomfortable feeling amidships.
