day I do my best, and for your fatherly advice I am most grateful. Would not I like to see you this minute. Wouldn't I clap you on the back, yes, even hug, and kiss you? Come over next spring. If you should; - bring mother to share the embraces. Ar times I miss home, terribly, - especially just around this season a great lonesome feeling hangs about me.

Xmas here is the time of times for all to celebrate in any old way. The most common seem happy, the poor even go about smiling and Old Aim, my model is [striketrhough] pres [strikethrough] preserved in [striketrhough] alch [strikethrough] alcohol, and smiles .

I am glad you have had to go to New York so often, it sounds like old old times.

Now that the church has lost two members you ought really to attend the services, and help fill the gap.

I sent Xmas cards (private ones) to all my new friends last Saturday.
