The Echini, which have been separated from the rest of the collection, contain several interesting species not obtained previously by the Fish Commission. Other groups appear to be as well represented, and when worked up will undoubtedly yield very important results. Among the Crustacea there is a single specimen of the giant Isopod (Bathynomus giganteus A. M.-E.?) measuring about 8 1/2 inches in length. The original was described from the Blake collections made in the same region, and measured 11 inches in length. Scarcely any shore collecting was done, and the bulk of the collection therefore represents dredging work. The entire collection has already been sorted and will at once be catalogued.
