feature page and I have started working on a design for the kidsat home page for the web meeting.

Hilary asked me to see if anyone from our team will present what our group has been up to to Cathy and Karen (teachers from South Carolina and LA area) on thursday may 18th at 10:30 am. If you want to do it we'll talk at our Monday meeting. Other than that its been a pretty slow week.

Sarah:
This week was not very productive due to several midterms and so forth. I did modify the rolodex a few times as per suggestions from the extended KidSat team. Adam and I have also been working on a presentation for the Academic Enrichment program; EarthRISE's official debut, I suppose. We showed it to some NSF (?) people on Thursday. They seemed to like it, and Dr. Ride gave us a pointer to a popular CD-ROM that does something similar to EarthRISE, and is designed for kids.

Jacob:
STILL putting the right captions with the right images. On friday I will create directories (like subjects~feature page)to put the finiched captions in. Still trying to hook up with Gerry Kuhn (to scan the high resolution images in), but he has been busy this week with the Seismic Survey. I am hopefully going to get him in the lab to do it on Mon. or Tues. After that, I will just use the images we have, try & contact JSC and suggest to John Hopkins that if they have a faster connection at JSC to pursue it. Time is a factor: their conference is ~May 19.

Also, have successfully witnessed the La Jolla Country Day group accessing our home page and walked the students and teachers through the procedure. Dr .Ride will be giving a talk there this Monday. She is interested in using some of the captions the students use in her talk. At the end of her talk some of the science teachers will give a demonstration of WWW/html/internet/etc They would like to use our home page. Dr. Ride and the teachers would like to incorporate the captioned images onto one of our feature pages. (YES, BY Monday). What I need from Sarah and Adam:

if I can bring you the disk of captioned images (1-2) by the 1pm meeting, is it possible that a "site" can be set up for the LJ group can access for their presentation to show for the Monday Event? I envision some thing similar to the "maincont" site that had the red dots indicating Lakes in the U.S. The captions are going to be Hawaii (maybe San Diego, but I doubt it) That's about it so far.
