I've taken the voyage of a lifetime, but every day in my work as a [[crossed out]] college professor [[\crossed out]] teacher ^[[professor]] — I find myself on another launch pad, where the consequences of success reach farther & deeper. There, the possibility exists at any given moment to influence a young mind — & that could change the world.

Today it's easy to be dazzled by sci + tech, by instant global communications. But what's still most important (as all teachers here will recognize) is to excite the imaginations of students with a novel idea, on a fresh new way of looking at something.
In the final analysis, whether designing a mission to Mars, decoding DNA, or formulating a brilliant business plan, there's a simple formula for success: Enrich a motivated, [[crossed out]] absorbed [[\crossed out]] young mind — then anything is possible.
