I walked to Harrisburg from West Chester about a hundred & forty miles & back about half way. Then we stoped & worked in the tobacco fields for almost a week, & we got a dollar & a half a day. Better than art dont you think? But Storrs, you should have been with us! We had a wonderful two weeks of it. The air had in it the first scent of Autumn, oh Gosh the swellest day you ever saw. And with fine roads stretching on & on in front of us, from villiage to villiage & city to city, I never had many as good times. The feeling of fredom was the great thing. I waited over a couple of days so as to have an evening with Miss. Lambert. We went to the theatre & had a very fine time eaven though the Show was a lemon.
