understand probably if you had the paper- [[Then?]] I found a little memorandum separate from the printed page- giving

Receipts $ 9.239.71

(then under it in [[pencil?]]) 9.359 71
(in ink) Business Expenses $3,098-00

Maybe you can answer him [[satisfactorily?]] from this memorandum.
It is a [[wonder?]] I found the papers jumbled up with a lot of unimportant ones.
I hope [[when?]] [[Sprels?]] bill comes in- it will be in the end. He said he would send it tomorrow. I will send you a list when they are ready- I have paid up everything & hope to have enough for a car.
Last night I saw the [[Ipsen?]] & Billy H. after dinner. We sat in the lounge & they were talking about boats & cars. I asked Mr. Ipsen if he would dare buy a used boat or car? & he said no- not unless I knew the party well who was selling them- but he would consider a used car from the headquarters of the same car- For instance if the Dodge people had a used car for sale- he would feel sure that that they did not misrepresent it- for business reasons.
I am going to write to the Portland Dodge Co- & ask them if they have used cars.
