the Italian delegation, he was charmingly cordial, requesting he could not have a talk at the time but asked if we could take dinner with him two  night at 8.15. Therefore I soon after dry out my dinner suit from the trunk, which sadly needed pressing after its long confinement.

At 8.15 I was at the  hotel "Crillon" the official residence of the Am. delegation and its head quarters.  This building is one of the focal prefaces of Paris backed on one side of the Great Place de la Concord.  American soldiers were guarding at the spacious portals [[strikethrough]]entering[[/strikethrough]] to a great hallway.  A modern elevator carries one to the floor above.  M. White occupies a large portion of the 1st floor.
