"Comte d'Arschot, would not be in for about half an hour. asked to wait in a reception room, this was to one side of the Palace Garden. At expiration of this time, was asked to accompany a judiciary [[good guess?]] in civilian clothes to the main palace accross [[across]] the garden,— to see the Colonel "en servier" I think it was. At the Main door of the Palace up three or four steps was met by the Colonel and a Livered [[strikethrough]] serva-- [[/strikethrough]] attendant [[latter]] took my portfolio, & came from the [[gutt-?]] with me, and I was greeted by the affible [[affable]] young Colonel, who may have been officer of the day or on regular duty he spoke English fairly well, he asked one of the attendants, (there were about 3) to take my coat and traps, we walked up a hall way into a spacing chamber of stone or marble,
