My dear Joe

I should have responded more promptly to your letter of the 2nd May which I received some time ago, but the fact is I've been rather upset lately. I've not been feeling particularly well, and have been perhaps a little more sour tempered than usual, then Cranford and Platt went off the other day and I have been moving, from the Rue de La Victoire up here. I accomplished this herculean feat
