Dear Henry,

I just received in this mornings mail your lovely Christmas letter.  I was very happy to hear from you and to know you were well.  We, too, are having very severe weather and I donot venture [[strikethough]] up [[/strikethrough]] out myself.  You are right to be careful for colds are very miserable things to have.  I have been feeling and knowing I should write to you but I have been trying to get back to myself again.  We have had so many things
