Friday morning.

Dear Henry:- We feel very badly because we have not been able to get out to see you for so many days. The chief reason is that [[?]] has had a bad cold. To-day he is better and by to-morrow he will be so well, I hope, that we can get out to you. You may wonder why we don't take a taxi. As a matter of fact we have been using taxies for two or three days, but I won't let Atherton go out alone in one, because I am afraid he might get dizzy, and then be badly off with a strange chauffeur, and he won't let me go alone in one - well, Heaven only knows why!! To-day Atherton has gone out with Miss Oliver, he had to go to the American Counsul about some important papers that
