meantime, having little to do at the moment, I am going on with the translation of your first volume._ I am now advanced as far as page 150 (Physiography of Baracoa Region); I expect soon to hear from Dr. Aristedes Mestre and very likely this gentleman is in correspondence with you about the matter. 

I did not know at all that you were preparing a new expedition and having no good map here of Arkansas/ Mr. Ham has got one but Palma Soriano is far away from here. I am unable to locate Eureka Springs._



I suppose, where you are is a fine country & very likely has been in former centuries the happy hunting grounds of the red man.-
