 [[circled]] 2[[/circled]] years ago, I am now past the 55 years and feel that I could do no more heavy expedition work, I mean digging and long trips my back is troubling me lately Considerably and I must be careful to remain in good health. 

Yesterday morning I was very pleased to receive your letter dated the 17TH with, acknowledging receipt of my endeavor of the Cuba map. By this time I think you must have received the small map of the U:S: not as good as the former._ 

¿Did you send as well your set of books to Don Enrique Prava [[?]] y Don Antonio Rey? It would be very nice for them to have the book on account of their photos & the sketches of the specimen, notwithstanding they do not understand the english language._

As soon as I find any indications here, I will let you know forthwith_

I am writing you lately several letters about different subjects, but this does not mean to say that I expect you to answer them all._ You must be a very busy man, but my job here is a easy one._ I am the the bookkeeper / doble entry of the business and coffee hulling concern and as the situation here at the present is critical, perhaps you have read about it in the papers, my work here is soon done._ As I keep my work up to date by  midday I am through and have time to dedicate myself to my hobbies or making short trips._ However I am not as strong as I used to be 6
