GEORGE G. HEYE
CHAIRMAN AND DIRECTOR

Feb .6,1926

Dear Ramon [[crossed-out]] a [[/crossed-out]]:-
This is another one of those California reminder days. Snow a foot and a half deep on the level and godonlyknows how deep in the drifts. Cadzow was out of sight shoveling the museum from its snowy mantle. I would have gone out and helped him but didn't have any proper clothing, high shoes, old clothes etc. I aint gonna get any either until July 4 anf then I'll wait and see if the boys are wearing straw hats. On top of all of it I have a sore throat that is lalapalooza. More of your nice Manhattan weather. In short we've had a helluva winter.
Have been expecting that book from your mother but as yet haven't received it. As soon as I get it I will [[strikethrough]] [[illegible]] [[/strikethrough]] go to the bindery with said volume and get it fixed for you. Speaking of books my outfit cost me [[strikethrough]] [[illegible]] [[/strikethrough]] $36 to land in this building. The dang things sure cost me enough. And I am adding to them all along, hope I don't have to move again very soon.
I thought this was a steady job but I dunno. I only work eighteen hours out of the twenty four, the other six I get a chance to eat and sleep. Looks as though I was getting gypped on the work end of it.
I thought Don was gone for the day day since he finished his snow shoveling job but I see he has repented and returned all dolled up like a drug store cowboy, something must be wrong with him.
