Know all Men by these Presents, That Samuel Buts, of the County of Carroll, State of Maryland, held and firmly bound to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in the sum of One Hundred dollars, for the payment of which I bind myself my HEIRS, EXECUTORS, AND ADMINISTRATORS, firmly by these presents, in this contract: that I, am to furnish the persons whose names are subjoined (freed laborers) quarters, full, substantial and healthy rations, all necessary medical attendance and supplies in case of sickness, and the amount set opposite their respective names per month, monthly during the continuation of this contract. The laborers to be paid in full before the final termination of this contract
