     Born at York, N.Y.; forty-six years of age; Cornell University, 1868-9; Counselor at Law, 1872; State Senator, 1885-7; renominated 1887, declined; Manager Buffalo State Asylum, 1884-94; Trustee State Normal School, 1887-94; Manager and President of Buffalo Library, 1883-90; Law Examiner, for admission to the Bar, Fifth Judicial Department, 1883-94; Member Republican State Committee, 1887; Member American Bar Association; Vice-President State Bar Association, 1887-8; Alternate Delegate-at-Large to National Republican Conventions--Chicago, 1888; Minneapolis, 1892; St. Louis, 1896; Delegate-at-Large to the Constitutional Convention of 1894, to revise and amend the Constitution; senior member of the law firm of McMillan, Gluck, Pooley & Depew, and local Counsel for the Vanderbilt Railways centering at Buffalo; member of the Presbyterian Church, Buffalo and Liberal Clubs, the Chi Psi Fraternity, the Consistory, and the Temple.
