THOMAS S. DOZIER,
COLLECTOR OF INDIAN AND MEXICAN CURIOS.
POTTERY, BLANKETS, ETC.

ESPANOLA, NEW MEXICO, 1/13/04 190

Mr. Geo. H. Pepper
with Am. Museum N't'l Hist'y.
New York City

Dear Mr. Pepper: - Your letter of the 5th came in due course but had no particular occasion for replying thereto sooner- since the burdens are upon you & I am principal gainer. Indeed I was glad to hear from you & were if not imposing on you would be very glad if I could hear from you oftener.

I hear quite frequently of Sauerwen who is now in Pasadena. We have between us worked up quite a little trade, the balance of trade about equalized, as it should be between good friends, but Sauerwen has put me on to some others who have been quite good customers. I have hung up among my curios 3 of his pictures One of them is an exceptionally fine Indian head in oil, the other two are colors of scenes in this vicinity. I own these pictures & wish if it comes your way to put me on to a buyer. Naco, old man
