Mr. Richard Wetherill,
Putnam, N. M.

My dear Wetherill:-

Your letter concerning an "Emergency Roll" reached me some time ago and I have endeavored to find some one who knew what the Roll was. This I have not been able to do. You are evidently mistaken in assuming that I gave you this object, unless it was some little thing that has entirely escaped my memory.

I am returning stamps which you enclosed, and am sorry that I must disappoint the Indian agents.

Very truly yours,

(G.H.P)
