My dear Mr. Hyde:- 

The combination letter reached me yesterday afternoon and it was just what I had been looking for. Nearly two weeks had passed since writing about the collection and I had begun to wonder whether both of you were out of town. I was delighted to hear that your trip to the mountains had done you so much good. I wish tou could be here to see the results that we are getting to say nothing of the good times that you could have in studying the Indians and the way that Mr. Hubbel handles the Navajos. 

The collection of pottery is being packed at present and there are specimens in it that I did not fully appreciate when the inventory was taken. In looking over the material I merely took time enough to satisfy myself that there were enough new dorms to justify my buying it. You can imagine my delight as the interiors of bowls were seen. bowls of the rich red and cream ware with elaborate designs which are new to our collections New forms in the white ware that were covered up when the count was made were spread upon the floor yesterday and it made one feel good to look at them.
