Now let us thrash out the preliminary work of the Philadelphia Meeting.

I have just received a letter from the Permanent Secretary, Dr. L. O. Howard of Washington in which he outlines the general proceedings of the meeting. He states that there is to be but one program prepared and that the copy for the entire program of Section "H" must be in his hands not later that the 15th. of December. He continues:- "This will necessitate some hustling on your part to get up a good program". I wish that I could be there to do this "hustling" but as I cannot I want to make matters as clear as possible to you.

I think it will be well to ask Saville to assist you in this work as he is thoroughly in touch with the members, methods, and the names of outside people to whom the notice should be sent. I shall write Saville asking him as a personal favor to give you this assistance. You can also apply to him. It will be well to do so as soon after the receipt of this letter as possible.

The first thing to be done is to make out a circular letter and have it printed. The Irving Press, 225 Fourth Avenue did the work last year and will rush it through for you. Have bills made out to me and I will settle for same when I return.

Find out whether the Anthropological Association is to Affiliate with Section H. and if so mike [[make]] the proper corrections in the circular letter that I am sending you or in the new one that you may
