B. TALBOT B. HYDE
80 WEST STREET

New York, December 9th, 1904.

Mr. Geo. H. Pepper,
General Delivery,
Albuquerque, N. M.

Dear Sir :-
It is too bad for me not to have gotten word to you while on that Mexican trip, and I know my only show now is to write to Albuquerque, as you will start for home to-morrow.
I see you have planned out considerable work for the winter's campaign, but this winter will of course be different from several previous others, from the fact that both Mr. Heye and myself will be able to give you more time, more especially Heye. He has certainly taken hold good and strong, and I see a number of pow-pows ahead.
I was just wondering if you could not drink some sort liquidized gutta-percha before your next trip into that rainy country. Perhaps it would keep out the water. Saville said you were likely to strike some rainy weather down there, but he had no idea it would hold on so long, and I do truly hope that both yourself and Mrs. Pepper have felt no permanent disagreeable effects from this unusual exposure. She is a mighty plucky little woman to go through it all without a complaint
In regard to Huckel's book, of course stopping at Albuquerque will make the ideas of you both very definite as to the original cost and possible output.
I am mighty glad you have had such good success,
