The inside of the pie was a great success. I hope that I will have better luck next time.
It has been cloudy for more than a week and ended up by a good rain. Rain at the wrong season of the year is very depressing. Last week I spent in bed, or spent the better part of it there. I was sick like Mrs. Pepper. Am feeling all OK. but still take quinine every day.
You must let me know about shipping the pottery from here - and also what you want done about the collection in Muapau. Did you get a spear & throwing stick while you were in Muapau? If not I will get you one and take to the States with one. I am taking some pictures of thrashing & cleaning rice & will send you some when I go down to the city. So far I have not developed any, but reckon I will tomorrow. I am sorry to have to report the loss of the "little tame chicken". On my return from M. he was missing. I hope that your meeting in Phil. was all you had counted on & passed off in great shape. When you have time drop me a line & it will be much appreciated. With kindest regards for you both. I remain Most sincerely Yours
John A Cobbs
